How a Solvd renovation works
- Site visit and scope. We come to you, look at the space and talk through what you want to achieve. From there we put together a clear scope and quote.
- Design and consents. If your renovation needs plans, engineering or a building consent, we bring in our design partners and manage the consent process with Auckland Council.
- The build. Our Licensed Building Practitioners carry out the building work. We coordinate every other trade you need, from electricians and plumbers to plasterers and painters.
- Handover. We walk through the finished job with you and make sure everything is signed off, including the Code Compliance Certificate where one is required.
One team from start to finish
Most renovations involve more trades than people expect. A kitchen alone can need a builder, plumber, electrician, tiler, plasterer and painter. Managing them yourself means juggling schedules, quotes and who’s responsible when something goes wrong.
With Solvd, you deal with one project manager for the whole job. We book the trades in the right order, keep the site moving and keep you updated. Painting is done in-house by our own team, so the finish is looked after by the same company that built it.

Renovation FAQs
Do I need a building consent for my renovation?
It depends on the work. Changing structural walls, adding plumbing or altering the weathertightness of your home usually needs consent. Many cosmetic updates don’t. We’ll tell you at the site visit and handle the consent if it’s needed.
Can I stay in my home during the renovation?
Often, yes. It depends on which rooms are being worked on. We’ll plan the job to keep disruption down and let you know in advance if there are days you’ll need to be out.
Do you do small renovations, or only whole-house jobs?
Both. We take on single bathrooms and kitchens as well as full renovations and extensions.
Who manages the other trades?
We do. Solvd coordinates every trade on your project, so you have one point of contact from start to finish.
